The beginning of love
UP is a movie about love and dreams. Although the love in Couple from Up appears in the first ten minutes of the film, it has allowed many people to see the most beautiful form of love.
At the beginning of the movie, the little boy Carl (Carl Fredricksen) meets the tomboy Ellie (Ellie) with his love for adventure. Ellie is very enthusiastic, lively and happy, like the sun, while Carl is a little shy. Ellie regarded the entire room as a big spaceship and excitedly told Carl about her adventures. The same hobbies made the two become friends.
After Ellie finished speaking, she was about to leave. She thought about it and said, “I like you.” Maybe it was just his childhood friend’s liking at this time, but Karl blushed with embarrassment. In the blink of an eye, Carl and Ellie both grew up. They fell in love and held a wedding. Even though the two people with very different personalities got along extremely harmoniously.
There was nothing at home, so the two of them worked together to make it. Carl would watch lovingly as Ellie painted the mailbox. They would climb mountains together, lie under the trees, look at the clouds in the sky, and plan for the future; they would also save money together and keep working hard for that adventurous dream.
The end of love
The love in Couple from UP is as beautiful as a dream, probably because happy time always passes a little too fast. The little boy Carl also became Grandpa Carl. They are still very happy, but the dream about adventure seems to have fallen asleep.
Couple from UP met because of dreams. When Carl and Ellie first got married, they wanted to fulfill their dream of Paradise Falls. They planned and acted again and again, but in the end they lost to reality. A small piggy bank holds not only money, but also two people’s greatest wishes. As the days passed, the dreams were forgotten little by little, replaced by firewood, rice, oil, salt, sauce, vinegar and tea. Carl and Ellie lived an ordinary life like this, from black hair to white hair.
One day, the elderly Karl turned over the paintings that Ellie had drawn in the past, and the almost forgotten dream was reawakened. Carl directly bought two plane tickets, hoping to fulfill the unfinished wish of his youth with Ellie. However, at that time, Ellie’s life had come to an end and she could no longer complete the common dream.
Ellie finally left this world. Carl has refused to leave the old house. Because this place holds too many memories of him and Ellie. Here are every bits and pieces of him and Ellie, including the mailbox with their handprints.
After Ellie left, Carl became a strange old man in the eyes of others. They didn’t even leave the house during the demolition, and even lost control and beat the workers. In fact, he just wanted to keep the memories with Ellie. That day, he sat all night holding the mailbox drawn by Ellie, and finally made up his mind to use Ellie’s favorite balloon to start an adventure that had never begun!

Gray-haired Carl embarked on the adventure they had dreamed of a lifetime. Even though the road ahead was difficult, he was happy with it. He misses Ellie every day, wiping the photos of Ellie in different ways, and keeping all her habits, as if Ellie has never left.
If the person you love takes the first step, what is the best gift for your other half?
The answer is: the faith and courage to start a new life.
Carl always felt that Ellie’s biggest wish was to see Paradise Falls, but Carl didn’t know that in Ellie’s heart, staying with Carl until she grew old was already her biggest wish.
In the last sentence of the album, Ellie wrote: Thank you for the adventure you brought me. Now, even if I am not here, start your new adventure! ——Love you, Ellie.
The relationship between Ellie and Carl was envied by countless people. They held hands and grew old together. The two people experienced various difficulties and tests, but still firmly chose each other. Is their love not an adventure? Maybe this adventure is what Ellie really wants!
Couple from Up—continuation of love
Watching a movie means watching a life that is different from real life, or stepping into a character to experience a life that is different from your own, or seeing the life you want in the movie in the future.
In the first ten minutes of “Up”, I saw the life I wanted to experience, I saw the life I wanted. After watching the whole movie, I saw an adventure that was different from reality, a life that I wanted to experience if I had the chance.

When did we begin not to believe in love, when did we begin not to dare to talk about eternity, and when did our worship of material things strip away our belief in love itself. We are accustomed to entering or exiting one love after another, and then regard it as an exercise in love. Our world is too impetuous, and we are too impetuous to seriously develop a relationship that lasts a lifetime.
However, the reality we talk about cannot conceal the longing for eternity in our hearts. The tenderness of holding hands and growing old together is settling down bit by bit over the years.
